Invited Speaker

Prof. Carlo S. Regazzoni , University of Genova, Italy

Biography: Prof. Carlo Regazzoni is Full Professor of Telecommunication Systems at the Engineering Faculty of University of Genova since 2005. Since 1998 he is responsible of the Signal Processing and Telecommunications (SP&T)Research Group at the Department of Biophysical and Electronic Engineering (DIBE), University of Genova that he joined in 1987. His main current research interests are: Bio-inspired Signal and Video Processing and Recognition, Data Fusion, Signal Processing for Telecommunications, Cognitive Radio, Multimodal Intelligent Interfaces, Pervasive adaptation in embodied cognitive systems. He has served as co-organizer and co-chairman of the International Workshops on Advanced Signal and Video Based Surveillance Systems, now IEEE AVSS. Dr. Regazzoni has been project responsible for DIBE in several concluded EU research and development projects dealing with signal and video processing applied to surveillance methodologies and applications in the transport field. He has been awarded of best IEEE Vehicular Electronics paper award in 2002. He is author or co-author of more than 50 papers on International Scientific Journals and of more than 160 papers presented at Refereed International Conferences.
